Four calculators for the questions rail actually turns on — routing across networks, transit versus road, gauge compatibility, and whether that wagon number is even valid. Free, no account needed.

What these run on

The route planner, transit calculator and gauge checker read the same corridor and station registries as the rest of the site — 25 corridors across 43 terminals. Structural detail (gauge, interchange points, borders crossed) is real; transit times and rate bands are indicative planning figures rather than operator quotes.

The wagon-number validator is different: it is pure arithmetic from UIC leaflet 438-2 and is exactly as correct offline as it would be with a live connection. It proves a number is well-formed — not that the wagon exists.
