What counts as a consignment?

One consignment = one booking request you submit through the platform — regardless of corridor, wagon count, or service type. Cancelled, rejected or expired bookings do not count against your quota.

Route search, station lookups, wagon tracking and rate quotes are not metered as consignments. You can shop 150+ operators and 1,200+ terminals without burning through your booking quota.

Is there a free plan?

No — Starter is $1.99/month, roughly one sip of a latte, and you can cancel anytime in two clicks. We'd rather charge a fair $1.99 than bury you in ads or sell your data. No contracts, no setup fees, no hard feelings if you leave.

What happens if I exceed my quota?

New booking requests get a friendly upgrade prompt — or grab a single extra consignment at the Starter price, no commitment. Tracking and document access for your existing consignments keeps working; we never freeze a shipment mid-transit.

Can I change or downgrade my plan?

Anytime, in one click from your Billing page — up or down. Bought Pro+ and only need Pro? Switch down and you keep this month's full consignment allowance; we credit the unused part of your old plan toward your next invoice. Nothing is lost, and the lower price kicks in next cycle.

Cancelling & auto-renew

Auto-renew is on by default so you never lose access by accident — your plan renews each month for the plan you chose. Turn it off whenever you like: you keep full access until the end of the month you already paid for, then your account moves to no plan. No early-termination fees, no clawbacks, no surprises.

How does the markup work?

When we resell an operator rate we add a stated margin, and that margin gets smaller as your tier goes up — 20% on Starter down to 10% on Ultra. It is a markup on price, never a reorder of the results: the cheapest service is still shown as the cheapest service.

Is billing live yet?

Not yet. RailScanner is early and checkout is not wired — these are the plans we will launch with, published so you can see the shape of the pricing before you commit. /status always states what is live. If you want to be told when signup opens, write to us.
